Chad Makovsky graduated from Saint Cloud State University in 1995 with a degree in Airport Management & Operations. His airline experience includes working as an Aircraft Load Planner and Hub Operations Controller for America West Airlines in Phoenix, Arizona. Ten years ago, Chad transitioned to Airport Operations when he accepted a position as Operations Supervisor at the JFK International Air Terminal, which housed over 45 international airlines. Since that time, he has worked as an Airport Operations supervisor at Burbank Airport in California. At Burbank, he served as a first responder for Southwest Airlines Flight 1455, which overran the runway and crashed onto an adjacent street. Chad works at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport as the Airside Operations Manager and oversees a staff of 40 frontline employees and 8 supervisors. As a facilitator Chad brings his experience to many classroom discussions.
Chad is a Certified Member of the American Association of Airport Executives, he holds a Private Pilots License, and in his free time, he enjoys working on computers and traveling with his wife Stephanie.
