Scott Simpson, Director of Safety
Mr. Simpson holds a Safety Management Certificate from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and wields diverse experience in front-line operation and management, corporate training roles, project management, aviation safety and security, partnering with industry associations and government agencies.
His experience was gained through numerous roles in airline operations which provides an added emphasis to all AviaEd programs. Some of his accomplishments include:
- Development of specific audit programs for airline operations to facilitate regular inspections by the FAA and TSA.
- Development of skills to train all levels of an airline, front-line, leadership, executive, and industry partners through the maintenance of associations, including the FAA, TSA, and other government agencies.
- Designed, coordinated, trained, and implemented safety and security programs including Mishap Investigation, Emergency Response, Behavioral Based Safety, Risk Management, System Safety, Aircraft Search audits, SIDA audits, Internal Self Audit Program, and Safety Compliance Audits.
- Remains current on front-line aviation management of large Hub operations.
- Development of curriculum and training program for ground operations, customer service, cargo, weight and balance, and safety and security.
- Program management of new station openings and operational effectiveness audits of safety and security.
- Experience in Hazardous Materials Recognition, Hazard Communication 29 CFR 1919.1200, Airline De/Anti Ice programs, Loadmaster/Weight and Balance programs, and APU Brake-rider qualifications and training.
